Project H.O.P.E. (Helping Our People in Emergencies)
Service Delivery
The services Project H.O.P.E. provides are:
- outreach
- screening and referral to disaster relief agencies or community resources
- individual and group counseling
- community education and information
- support and development of community response to disaster.
Other FEMA programs
- Crisis counseling – provides counseling to disaster victims experiencing trauma due to the disaster
- Disaster Unemployment – provides benefits to disaster not covered under the regular State Unemployment Program
- Disaster Legal Services – services provided by the American Bar Association’s Young
- Lawyers Division to low-income individuals affected by the disaster. Providing no fee services such as replacement of important documents, advice on landlord/tenant issues, contractors, etc.
Project HOPE is currently in a phase down period. Project HOPE will be phased up and redeployed in the event of a Presidential declared emergency. If there is a disaster please look for our staff in their bright yellow shirts at the Disaster Response centers and in your community.
