Our brave Mental Health staff members accepted the challenge from our Methadone staff and enthusiastically participated in the well-known and very popular Ice Bucket Challenge. They are now challenging Christa Hodges, Frank Emanuel, Tara Lord, Ed McCall, Dietangal Heard, Deweyne Robinson, Gloria Hanania, and Lucious Jennings.

Our brave Methadone staff members accepted the challenge from our Matrix House staff and participated in the well-known and very popular Ice Bucket Challenge. Our Methadone staff is now challenging Adult Outpatient, Baker County staff members, Millennium Laboratories representatives, and Gateway Community Services Medical Detox staff.

River Region Human Services, Gateway Community Services and Lakeview Health Systems are joining together in Jacksonville to host a series of Recovery Month events during the month of September. These events will emphasize the importance of seeking physical and mental wellness every day, through multiple pathways and throughout the recovery process, to achieve health and well-being,” said Kenneth Arnold, one of the events’ organizers. “It is critical that people experiencing mental and/or substance use disorders receive the support they need from the community. The reality is that behavioral health is essential to overall health, and we know that prevention works, treatment is effective, and people recover.”
The Recovery Month activities will begin with an Art Walk at the Magnificent Café, located at 231 N. Laura St., in Downtown Jacksonville. This event is scheduled for September 3rd at 6:00pm.

The month’s activities will culminate with the crowd-drawing community Block Party at 900 Bridier Street on September 26th at 5:00pm.
